Why do we celebrate Engineer’s Day?

Engineer’s Day is celebrated to remember the birth anniversary of well known Bharat Ratna engineer Sir M. Visvesvaraya. He was born in Kolar District of Muddenahalli village of present day Karnataka in Mysore. During the construction of Krishna Raja Sagara on the Kaveri River near Mysore he served as the chief engineer. Besides it many dams, bridges were constructed by him.

Engineer’s Day

The day is celebrated annually on 15th September all across India. The day is also celebrated to commemorate the works and spirits of great engineers.
