Why do we celebrate Godachi Fair?

The Godachi Fair pays tribute to Shri Veerabhadra. It is believed that out of Lord Shivaji’s hair lock he was born.

Godachi Fair

The month long fair takes place in October or November. It is held in the village Godachi, Karnataka in India.

The Government of Karnataka organizes this fair. More than 3000 devotees visit Godachi Temple to perform numerous rituals to please the God. The dramas based on social theme and comedy are performed during the fair.
