Why do we celebrate Khajuraho Dance Festival?

Khajuraho Dance Festival is organized to uphold the chief cultural event of Khajuraho and is hosted by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Department. It is celebrated from 25th February to 2nd March.

It is a seven day festival held in an open air auditorium in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh in India. The event takes place in front of Chitragupta Temple and Vishwanatha Temple.

The Chitragupta temple is devoted to Sun God where as Vishwanatha Temple is devoted to Lord Shiva. Several Indian classical dance styles such as Bharathanatyam, Kathakali, Kathak, Odissi, Manipuri and Kuchipudi are performed by the talented dancer which shows the richness of the festival. There are also crafts fair where artists display their crafts.
