Why do we celebrate Poush Fair?

Poush Fair is held to remember Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore’s Shantiniketan. Modelled on the lines of the ancient Gurukul System, he started a school named Brahmachary Asrama at Shantiniketan. After receiving Nobel Prize, the school was upgraded to college and was renamed as Visva Bharti.
