The Bay Area Storytelling Festival began in 1985 to expand story telling as a lively art form. It takes place in May month in El Sobrante, California in the United States.

The festival features some of the best story tellers from throughout the country. It creates opportunities for communities to hear storytellers from many cultures and disperse information about traditional and contemporary story telling.
