Why do we celebrate FinnFestUSA?

The FinnFest is a festival of folk, culture and heritage. Tauri Aaltio, Executive Director of Finland Society, Helsinki hosted a meeting in Minneapolis in 1982 to converse about holding an annual nationally based summer festival. Hence it was first held in Minneapolis in 1983. FinnFest festival occurs in July, August during the summer season all over the United States of America. The festival is financed in the form of donation, sponsorship, raffles, event tickets, registration fees.
